Mochinat Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach welcomes its first Japanese-style mochi doughnut shop, Mochinut, offering a delightful fusion of traditional mochi—a chewy Japanese rice cake—and the classic American doughnut. Situated at 391 Seaboard St. #K2, Mochinut not only tantalizes with its unique doughnut offerings but also serves up Korean corn dogs and Boba tea, adding a diverse twist to the local culinary scene. With existing locations in North and South Carolina, and another planned for Tennessee, Mochinut's Myrtle Beach outlet marks a significant expansion, thanks to local entrepreneur Giselle Sanders and her family.

Giselle Sanders, a registered nurse from Washington state, transitioned to the world of culinary business by opening Mochinut with her son Tristin and husband Tony. The doughnuts at Mochinut stand out due to their use of rice flour, making them crunchy on the outside and delightfully chewy inside, catering also to those with gluten allergies. The shop offers a variety of flavors, originally popularized in Hawaii and now gaining traction nationwide. Their Korean corn dogs are equally innovative, dipped in rice flour batter with options like spicy sausage, mozzarella, or a combination of both, then rolled in toppings like diced potatoes and breadcrumbs before being perfectly deep-fried.
